Rolex, the single largest luxury watch brand, produces timepieces that have long and popularly been regarded as status symbols. Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law Alfred Davis founded "Wilsdorf and Davis" in London in 1905, 3 years before registering the trademark name Rolex. Among their innovations are producing the first waterproof wristwatch, the first watch with an automatically changing date on the dial and the first watch to show two time zones at once.
